Also hptuners will connect fine with pcms and so will tazzis SOE, advanced diagnostics and his cluster reprogramming software.
I don't think it the laptop as it's connected to plenty of vehicles without a issue using other software. This cable does get used for tazzis software and havent had a issue with it (except one VZ clubby which I think is a module problem)

It could be borderline signal signal quality and the cable. Is the cable one of ours?
Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396

I know we don't like old versions floating around but just for shits & giggles do you want to try this version as I've found it the best to connect to the flash PCM's on bench or in car.

Think its one of mine.
I recon its a computer speed/timing not quite up to scratch like VL mentioned. If Im not mistaken, flashtool searches for at least 25ms of silence after a heartbeat? If the laptop isnt fast enough to record this then could be causing dramas?

Mine finds the heartbeat and instantly sends a request, it doesnt wait for any silence so could be why thats no dramas there.

No I'm using a aldl. I was referring to tazzi when he said thinks I have his lead.
I have the vaio on charge to give that ago aswell. Will try both version of flashtool.
At this stage it's looking like cable or car?
I don't have any friends that have v6's though to try a different vehicle, they all have V8s which require ELM or HPT

Hmm... thats really odd...

Especially if its on the bench... so nothing else would be communicating right.. seems like a true 'wtf' situation.
