Re: Kalmaker
Solder it all into a new ecu they are as cheap as 50 bucks or free a lot of the time. there will be a wire on the back side too .there's probably a pull up resistor or something on the board dead making the o2 read wrong vl400 or Antus might know exactly.
If Its Got Gas Or Ass Count Me In.if it cant be fixed with a hammer you have an electrical problem
Re: Kalmaker
If it's working maybe stick with it, but good chance also to upgrade to 12P. Fit a USB comms module straight to the board. Re burn the Kalmaker RT board with 12P. If you need help converting the current tune post it up here. I've done a few and I'm sure others have.

Re: Kalmaker
If the computer is toast like delcowizid said, replace it. Do the same wire mod on the back and move the comms board over to the replacement one. The hardware is compatible with 12P, and you may or may not want to go there, but if I were you i'd do it one step at a time. I would not attempt board level repair. (Well actually I might to burn some time, but I wouldnt recommend it) hehe.

Re: Kalmaker
Thanks guys.
I am going to make the jump to 12P
So I will need to source another 808.
Can anyone recommend a supplier or should i just watch ebay / gumtree etc?
Do I move the whole board over that was retained by the two camlock clips?
Given that this is 12 years old should I be replacing the NVRAM?
Would i be better off doing the usb comms port instead?
Cheers

Re: Kalmaker
I would go directly to the wreckers myself, or ebay. Provided its cheap if its bad you can write it off and get another one. Up to you though. Same for the hardware. If you stick with the kalmaker hardware you'll need a usb to serial cable with an ftdi chipset. You should replace the nvram ic - thats getting on in age. Usb comms might be more convinient. Send me a pm if you need pcmhacking hardware. I also have a few 808s laying around, could probably put together a package.

Re: Kalmaker
bursons sell 808's recoed. Personally I would take the package deal from antus with usb coms ( known working package ) especially if you have any hesitations about board soldering to the new ecu

Re: Kalmaker
Quick update,
I have just submitted an order with Antus,
To change over to PCM Hacking Hardware.
Looking forward to using the DOS machine as a doorstop...
Just on Laptops
What do people on here recommend as an Laptop and operating system for tuning with Tunerpro / 12P etc.
I have a work laptop with windows 10.
What has proven to be the most stable??
