Couple of things I noticed when using this tool earlier today to ID some odd PCMs I have here, is that if I select VS V6 in the "Select Vehicle"
option, the mouse focus is lost when attempting to select another vehicle from the drop down menu, all others work fine though when choosing
a different vehicle from the menu..
Has anyone else encountered that..

Also, there's an auto & manual binary in the Data 1.01.zip collection of bins & XDFs that are identical, in the " VS V6/$51RFI " folder..
Not that I'm bothered by the fact, just wondered if anyone else noticed & thought it odd..

Just the crummy old 1.7g Pentium M XP Pro laptop I use for playing around with this stuff, I'll upgrade if I think it would make me some folding stuff..
Has Net 3.5 on it...

im not sure about the bin, unless someone has a copy straight from a pcm to compair with to verify i dont have anything further.

Ive not been able to reproduce the error but have recomplied it with latest VS.net see if that helps.

That fixed it, all good now, thanks..!

EDIT:
I got to wondering if a previous version did the same, I dug out 1.7 & found it did the same as 1.8..

Was just checking ebay out to buy either a VN or VP V6 memcal, & ran accross a VS V6 Police memcal that is listed with a different number to the one in the Memcal ID tool..

I did a search on the web for the number, & found a partial on the justcommodores forum, listed as:-
" BWPL???? $51 3.8L Auto 16208257 (RFI) Police Version from 5/1996 "

And a post here on this forum
From what I make of the posting in the above link, the 1648 came from converting the 2 digits at hex 02000, Hex 0670 which equates to Dec 1648,
I haven't seen a VS chip whose Hex 02000 ID matched the actual 4 numbers on the sticker of the chip.

The one I found on ebay, though the price is a bit out there, $150.00, has a scan of the chip that is good enough to read the ID label.

The ID tool lists it as BWPL1648, the real Bin ID number is BWPL1631.

That seems pretty conclusive, perhaps there was an error on documentation somewhere that has been copied over and over. Ive updated our local copy of the memcals list, and linked to your post from the ID number. That page is here: https://pcmhacking.net/memcals.html
Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396

I found another one that was previously unknown, VP V6 Manual, BAAN????, turns out to be BAAN0270..
Should I continue to post them here as I find them, seeing they're probably going to be added to the next tool release, or should I start another thread for them.

Also, if anyone wanted to update the tool they were using, just searching for the string partial with a hex editor and overwriting the question marks with the right numbers is all that's needed, the tools checksum is zero so no need to update it every time you edit it..

thanks Ken, yes keep them coming and ill update when i can.

As for the police PCMs it'd be hard to tell unless you saw it with the shield installed, some of these i changed back to normal bins as i found them myself in cars which never had the shielding.

There probably those secret Police eproms we have all heard about that produce unbelievable HP and allow the engine to rev to 8G+. I have some eproms that I have no reference to the number so will have a look through them and post.
