Re: Kalmaker
No you have to use lpt port and be running in true dos so you need win 98 or earlier will not work wth xp or later and also not with usb

Re: Kalmaker
Yep, kalmaker was never upgraded to windows, and talks directly to the old lpt and com chips from the old dos generation of computers. It also to the 286 interupt timer and programs the pc hardware directly to get 8192 baud. This is why it is not compatible with windows, where this level of hardware access, and access without windows drivers are not available. For its time, it was quite advanced and was one of the then new generation of apps to use protected mode, which is what the WATCOM C Dos4gw dos extender is, which you see for a moment when you first run kalmaker.

Re: Kalmaker
This is frustrating me now I've uninstalled all USB programs/drivers, unchecked use fifo & made sure use baud rate 9600 & still can't get it to link in win98 but I can in dos, but I need to run programs in win98 so dos is no good to use!

Re: Kalmaker
So if I run programs in win98 then choose kal3.exe to run in dos it shuts background program I use to log with wideband to shut down so that's not going to work for me either.

Re: Kalmaker
LMAO I already have but have doubts my calls & setup is right so I wanted to confirm with actual kalmaker info as I know back in the day once set close with my own car it showed what was expected with tunerpro & wideband so to see them side by side would be ideal!

Re: Kalmaker
I've also been told that if you go to the com port settings for the rs232 in device manager & turn fifo off then on it may help too as it clears the buffer, does this sound right?
Re: Kalmaker
Hi guys, hoping someone may be able to assist me
I have a Kalmaker SP3 in a VH Commodore with a Holden 5L
I've just hooked up a set of thermo fans which I'm running off terminal C1. I've set the low & high temps using the variables
OUT:FAN:LOCLT1
OUT:FAN:HICLT1
All works well in that regard. But have a couple of questions.
What is this variable used for ? Does it cut the fans in below a set road speed ?
OUT:FAN:LOKPH1
And what is FAN2, how do you use it ?
And
I have working air-conditioning. Up until now, I've run the condensor fan off the fan output that I'm now using for the engine fans. I don't want to use the engine fans for the A/C. I want to use a smaller single condensor fan which I will just switch off the A/C relay.
So how do I stop the ECU switching the main fans on when the A/C enable is active ?
thanks for any assistance!
