Well it's been an interesting few weeks. I've been having ongoing troubles with my shoulder injury which hasn't come right and was getting worse. Recently I had a whole heap of scans done and long story short, after seeing the surgeon the decision has been made to remove the metalwork they put in my shoulder last time as it is creating inflammation causing pain and reduced mobility. In the mean time I have a couple of projects to finish around the house before surgery in the new year so the cars are on the back burner.

This week I've been working on repairing a storm water drain. The old drain was blocked and ran under my footpath so I decided to replace rather than repair. I dug out a new trench a couple of days ago and mocked it all up. Then today I laid all the pipe and glued it all together, concreted in the drain pit and started work on back filling the lot.

I also finished off the new drain pit I fitted at the bottom of the driveway last week as I was short about 2 meters off pipe to extend it through the retaining wall at the back of the property.

So that's all done and ready to back fill once it's set.

Currently I'm still waiting on my sparky to drop off the conduit for the spa pool wiring, once that is done and back filled I can continue on with my paving which currently looks something like this...

On a more positive note, now that I have laid the new storm water pipe we can finally get Fibre installed at the house. I'd much rather they work around my pipe than me having to worry about working around their new cable :) can't come soon enough after been without internet for almost a week after a big storm with lots of thunder and lightening.

Cheers.

Definitely. I'm abusing the pain killers but getting through the work. It's to hot here as well, fortunately out the back is in shade most of the day due to the native bush we have out there but out the front is only done when it's cloudy or in the evenings

I would if it wasn't rusted to shit in the boot :(

Finally made some progress, got the conduit and cable in, back filled and compacted the trench and laid the base course.

Just need to do a final level and compact it and we can lay the sand and paving unfortunately the hire place is closed tomorrow so that will have to wait a day or 2.

Made some good progress today, leveled and compacted the base course, wasn't happy with the final height so added another .5m² of gap 7. Ended up with this,

Then we experimented with the sand and a couple of pavers to get the finished level correct.

Tomorrow we'll lift those pavers and lay the sand over the entire area before fitting the pavers.
