Re: P01 and P59 Operating Systems
I’m not sure how many o/s there is, but I have noticed that gm used the 074 on some of the earlier holden models like wh statesman and even vx.

Interesting.antus wrote:There is a very good bench harness wiring PDF available here http://download.efilive.com/Tutorials/P ... torial.pdf
Page 5 of the PDF shows bench harness wiring for:
1999-Current LS1, LB7, Early V6 and 4 Cylinder Style Controllers
I've heard mention of the 0411 being used for V8s & V6s, but nothing about 4 cylinders.
Was the 0411 PCM used in a 4 cylinder application?
Thanks.

Nope, it just means that the pinouts and connectors are the same. Probably something like a "1991 Saturn S-Series 1.9L". Or not, but around that time GM did have VPW computers on 68k processors in the states while we still had our banked HC11s.

Hi all,
It uses a different part number, but the Chevrolet S10 with the 2.2L 4-cyl uses a PCM that looks EXACTLY like the '0411.

Got a pic of the PCB? The 6 cyl one is definately related but you can see components in different locations and without the debug header on the board, and less circuit drivers. Looks the same from outside.

Are you saying that the V6 PCB is different than the V8 PCB? If so in what way and do you have pictures?antus wrote:Got a pic of the PCB? I think he is referring to the V6/60 and the Buick 3800 PCM's, such as the one in my 2004 Olds Alero 3400.
NOT the 4.3L Vortec PCM as used in the Chevrolet Astro, Blazer, Silverado, and S10 (and the GMC clones) that uses the 0411.
Mike
Antus, so far NO I do NOT have one of these PCM's but have seen photos of them in 2.2L S10 trucks.

The v6 is pictured here and my 0411 in the next post: viewtopic.php?f=42&t=6080&start=180#p92029
You can see the similarities on the outside and the differences on the inside.
They are similar generation but not compatible. We need to see inside the 4cyl one but I think it'll be the same story.

Re: P01 and P59 Operating Systems
Ok, yeah that's really confusing when you call it a V6 PCM because mine is also a V6 PCM, because GM sold V6 and V8 engines that use the P01 and P59 PCM.
Another confusing thing is that P01 is written on the inside of my P59 PCM.
