Flex fuel for an Australian Commodore

There is a lot of information on forums using a flex fuel sensor on an LS1, but nothing conclusive on an Australian Commodore. Has anybody successfully used a PO1 or P59 PCM to run a Commodore LS1 on flex fuel.

What year is the Commodore? Is the PCM P01 or P59? DBC or DBW throttle? Do you know the Operating System number? There's no indication that Australian GM LS1 cars are incapable of running a flex fuel compatible Operating System.

Here is that calibration as a bin, and LRT's 12216125 XDF where I have replaced the checksum plugin with one that is 512kb and 1mb compatible.

The original plugins currently hosted on gearhead were hacked versions of my prior work with pcmhacking.net and my name removed. This was not known to LRT who was innocent in this and believed he was using freely available software.

I contacted LRT about this some time ago but he has not been active on the site to make any updates, so I think it is fair to re-host a properly attributed version here.

With enough time migrating commodore settngs and tables in to this bin, and installing the flex sensor to the original 2002 Tahoe pins I believe you could do it.

Antus, thanks for the response and the attachments I have already tested a 12216125 OS from a Tahoe.

I have already done some bench testing with 512kb PCM with the 12216125 operating system with a flex fuel sensor fed into blue 56, the logger read the ethanol content accurately all good, However when installed into an LS1 after migrating the commodore tables the vehicle started wobbled on and stalled.

I have also bench tested a VZ PCM which as far as I can see has the IAC drivers for the cable throttle are in the Australian VZ PCM, installed a 2004 GTO operating system 12587604 which is DBC, the logger did not read the ethanol content at all, it would appears the 12587604 does not have the ethanol active in the operating system even though it is in the VCM suite software..

It also appears while the USA guys have managed to get it working on their vehicles the indication is no reported Australian Commodores have been successful converted hence the post.

Don't give up mate, some company's are offering it as an upgrade in Australia. I'll dig around as well I've seen a YouTube video of an Aussie tune shop doing it. Showing the ethanol percentage on the HPT dashboard.

Itd be interesting to see the log from the 0411, surely it can be tuned and configured for the commodore.

Antus, the tune i prepared was only tested briefly on a car I had limited and remote access to, when it started stumbled and stalled and the fact there is nothing on the web (that i could find) that indicated it could be done on a Commodore I thought I would ask the question.

I will redo the migrating again and re-check everything, run the test again and log the result.

12587603 operating system (for 2004 P59 1mb) is used for dbw, dbc, with segments for flex fuel, 4l60e or 4l80e transmissions.
