TL866II+ds1245y programming

Post by Dazza92VP »

hi guys ill give you the story of the issues im having just got my self a new tl866II plus programmer as my old desktop i had for programming decided to split the water cooler open and fry its self meaning i lost my ltp ports so i cant use my old willem pcb  . now problem im having is i have 2 nvrams my one and a mates one here. my mates one he had for ages but never used it then when we finally got around to using it nothing no fire fans on right so i verified the nvram was the issue as mine worked in the ecu connected and started so figured possibly nothing was programmed before i had been sent or the battery went flat? and lost the info. so i used mine for a bit did some soldering and dropped some solder on to my nvram didnt realize tried to start same problem as the original one light on fans on no start no connection figured same deal hopefully. now got the programmer programmed them both have tried stacked and unstacked with both with no offset verifies fine reads back fine but still fans come on and check light with both of them map jumper on and off. im stumped as to where to go next im thinking maybe i fried a resistor or the tantalum capacitor on my nvram board but the ds1245y from mine still doesnt work in my mates and vica versa. can possibly have 2 dead boards and ICs

What program are you using 12p? If so just burn the 128kb stacked 12p bin to the nvram with no offset and plug on a memcal and see if it goes instant fans at key on.

Also with the tl866 there's 2 versions of ds1245y you can choose one is called "test" obviously that one won't program the nvram its just a pin test choose the other ds1245y listing

Sorry forgot to say I’m using 12p have tried stacked and unstacked. That did catch me out for about 20mins with the test ds1245y. It programs and reads back fine with both but still fans come on also when I try to program the stacked bins the first section is just 00

Yeah 12p is 32kb so you have 32k padding with 00, 32k of 12p, then the same again total of 128kb.
Take the RW jumper off and test again, it could be a problem on the rw line so data is being saved to the nvram where it should be reading instead. if it works with RW jumper off, check the wiring. Also try reading it after its been through the car and see if it still verifies.

I’ll try with the rw jumper off. I did try and read them after trying them in the car to see if for some reason they where getting corrupted but read fine and difference tool picked up nothing different between a standard 12p bin and the one I programmed onto the ICs

Sounds like your NVRAM chip is OK. Do you have an original memcal to make sure your ECU is working?
