Forgot to update but I got the rear seats and boot carpet sorted last week.

Now for a road worthy and hopefully AC gas. Then club rego.

Attached them with butyl mastic sealant. First I got the location right and taped up the top edge, then flipped it up, applied the sealant and then let the sheet swing down into place. That way you won't make a mess with the butyl trying to adjust the sheet.
I used builders wrap on mine and it does the job ok but this looks more professional.

Just need to finish off the front left door, contemplating to swap that with the other VP bomb as it happens to be mark and damage free on that car while the other 3 in the red car are pretty mint. I also have a NOS door pocket to swap on that trim, both cars left pockets are cracked.

Dyno day! pretty happy with the results. 136 rwKw a lot more than the 90 ish they make stock. That's about a 50% improvement.

The timing ended up needing far less than it did, ended with about 19º total and I also reduced the light load areas back to stock values of around 30 odd from the 40ish that it was with no loss of power. I could of gone even less but I left it at that.

Some acceleration testing. If I could launch properly :lol: Have had it down to 6.2 sec to 100 once, which in itself is pretty decent for a v6 VP.

That's a great result. It was only last night a mate come to me with a new car a dead stock VP V6 auto wanting a tune done.
I would never of went as low as 19 degree's on a Buick V6.

Is this engine modified?

Yes pretty modified. Custom cam. lightly ported heads and 10:1 compression.

It didn't not like a lot of timing, I found the sweet spot with least timing and most torque/power at 19º after doing a sweep from 15 to about 26, over about 24 it was lightly pinging.
The engine is a lot snappier and responds faster with the timing it has, when I had too much it felt a bit mushy even though the power was about the same.

This means the combustion is very fast.

What I learned is I could of gone a lot bigger in the cam with the compression that I chose. There was plenty of dynamic compression to spare.

High dynamic pressure makes for an efficient engine as long as the fuel is up to the job. Most factory engines around this era are lazy which is probably mainly due to the 91 ron fuel everything was tuned on.

Do you know what your cylinder pressures are from a compression test?
