Hi Guy's sorry to take so long to post back. I unplugged the gearbox wiring so I could get a better look, it's still plugged into the engine loom for testing.

Just needed to clarify is it the black and white wire for signal? there is an orange, pink and blue wire also. I need to make sure I'm testing right.

When I test the black white wire back to pin 64 for polarity the meter get a reading 384 should be 001 if polarity is right

if the black and white wire is signal, the pink and blue wire and orange only put's out 5.42v

need to confirm

black white wire =
orange wire =
pink and blue wire =

also in the picture below the plug on the right is the gearbox loom, left side is where it plugs onto engine loom I see no orange wire on the left. so I looked around the orange wire from the speed sensor seems to go into the plug under the glove box..

Pin 64 on x2 which is the ecu plug that goes to the body is vss signal in most likely via the big white loom plug behind the glove box where the auto loom and tcm plug into the dash loom after coming through the firewall. pin 22 on the same ecu plug is to the dash

Deerr I'm so stupid it was in your post  I look like an idiot!! :shh:

Now I know og = orange and it don't make it to pin 64 on the ECU :D
Black white is earth
pink blue is power

I guess PU/WH is purple white from pin 22 on ecu to speedo

Man I feel so dumb now, that's a brain fart

Now I stuck the clutch in and put brain in first, I should be able to work it out I will post back :study:

Brain is now in second gear  the sensor has no power. Tested the black/white wire and the pink/blue it has no power!

So put brain in 3rd gear :driving: tested pink/blue wire, plugged + multi meter into pink/blue wire, put - multi meter to negative on battery no reading

So I did that in reverse to test black/white wire got 12v no worries so earth is ok 8-)

So pink/blue wire has the issue

when I tested this the gear box loom is hooked up to the engine loom and plugged in under glove box. The O2 sensor plugs and reverse switch plug and speed senor plug where disconnected, so I could move the loom up to the engine bay for testing.

Any ideas why? is there a fuse? or plug else where?

I had a quick look at another engine loom I have it looks like the pink/blue wire goes from speed sensor plug to the ecu ( I could be wrong ) any idea which pin?

Shared with o2 sensor power and purge solinoid I think but not sure. I would jut give it a power feed from the purge solinoid if it has 12v
If Its Got Gas Or Ass Count Me In.if it cant be fixed with a hammer you have an electrical problem

No worries I give it a shot tonight when I get home I'll quickly hook it the the positive on the battery for testing. I'll post back and let you know what happens

Just out of interest any idea where the other end of the pink/blue wire goes to?

another question
in the diagram here would the fuse circled in red have anything to do with this issue? where is this fuse??

You've got to be joking lol  the first thing I did was triple check the fuses none look to be blown maybe it's missing... Any idea on which fuse and location?

None say speed sensor fuse :sad2:

Google search is a great help https://www.google.com/search?client=fi ... f9_bms6rck
