GQ-4X programmer USB not recognised
I was just wondering if anyone else has had a GQ-4X programmer work fine for years & then all of a sudden while in use it drop out of sync with PC & then USB not get recognised when plugging into ANY pc?
I’m guessing there’s something on the circuit board that has stopped working but visually I can’t see anything obvious...

Re: GQ-4X programmer USB not recognised
have you tried using the power socket? maybe the 5v line has died from the usb somehow?

Yeah that was the first thing I tried, but it didn't help... once I get it fixed I think I'll make sure I use the power supply with it when using to save any future issues!

Can you throw a multimeter on that top regulator in that picture? Looks like a 5v reg or something along those lines.. lets see if its outputting what it suppose to.VX L67 Getrag wrote:Yeah that was the first thing I tried, but it didn't help... once I get it fixed I think I'll make sure I use the power supply with it when using to save any future issues!
We can check its pinout first too if you grab the part number on it which I cant quite make out.

Looks like it’s a standard 5-volt 3-terminal regulator, L7805CV - I use these.
Pinout across face is In/Common/Out.

I had one given to me that was working fine, then suddenly stopped working / being detected when plugged in,VX L67 Getrag wrote:I was just wondering if anyone else has had a GQ-4X programmer work fine for years & then all of a sudden while in use it drop out of sync with PC & then USB not get recognised when plugging into ANY pc?
I posted the fix in this thread, my second post down.

Mine started crashing and I think it ended up being a windows update. I did post on this forum some time ago. What I ended up doing was to run as administrator and it works great now.

That regulator with multimeter with middle to black of multimeter the closest to outer edge is 11v & closest to middle of pcb is 5v.
Each of those resistors at the end closest to USB connector only have 1.7v but I can’t see any obvious burnt tracks from USB cage to those resistors!

If your card is no longer recognized by a machine, it may be damaged or have undergone an interrupted formatting.VX L67 Getrag wrote:Yeah that was the first thing I tried, but it didn't help sticker personnalisé Nice... once I get it fixed I think I'll make sure I use the power supply with it when using to save any future issues!
