ok I put the orignial tune back into it that it has been running for months before the cam change, it drives but not real well, I got a full log of it (I was sitting in the backyard for awhile before driving so sorry about the length of it), it doesn't want to idle for long as it keeps changing maps from closed loop idle to open etc.
It has ALOT of knock though which is also noted in the knock retard..
Here is the log, and also the bin..
on an upside data tracing was working great
let me know what you think, but it has some MASSIVE timing issues

dont even drive it if it doesnt run right youll just do damage.if you havnt run it at 2000-2500 revs for at least 20 minutes on initial startup kiss goodby to the cam and lifters you just fitted and soon to follow will be all the bearings from all the cam lobes that will go through them.if it blew a headgasket in the first place the tune couldnt of been that good to start with now you have a cam the tune will be fully wrong .its not that hard to tune a delco its no different than tuning a microtech or most other ecu's you only need to mess with timing and ve table to get it going way better thats all you do with aftermarket ecus

cam was run in properly, oil change done after that etc all as per the spec sheet that came with the cam..
The biggest issue I was having was the data tracing so I knew which map it was using, got that sorted now so it shouldn't be too difficult to sort out (with abit of luck)

ok, heres your bin back with a few tweaks, to get you a better place to start tuning from. wideband VE learn off, its not for you yet, Idle speed increased to 950rpm, stock spark map copied in ( I dunno who did the one you have but its crazy high man, no wonder the knock retard keeps going off) , lean cruise off, and low RPM VE lowered a little bit. its by no means perfect and may not run much better but should make an easier start. give it a go and upload another log

Thanks so much Jayme, will give it a go in the morning and do a log and let you know how it runs
I've got faith in a mate of mine that has tuned and tweaked his Skyline, going to get him to check over things and we'll go for a drive with the laptop to tweak it abit more, showed him the log of the drive I had today and he was amazed at the timing also. That may have had something to do with how the cam was aligned on the crank sprocket before I changed it?
Thanks again for all the help, will post back tomorrow

have you set base timing to 10 degrees with the ecu in diagnostic mode

no I was talking about commanded advance, thats what you can see in the log - the ecu has no idea how much actual advance is running, it just assumes that the engine has been timed at 10 degrees in diagnostic mode. (paperclip in the diag port so the enging light is flashing) now if your engine is timed at say, 15 degrees in diagnostic mode, then the ecu commands 35 degrees, your actual advance is 40 degrees. so if your base timing at dizzy hanst been set, its just a 2nd reason the timing could be way out, so its worth checking.

heres my offering, its the spark and ve tables out of my mate VS 304, it had flat tops, 286 cam, torque power dual plane manifold, crd 750cfm holley type throttle body, so hopefully the spark and ve tables should get you in the ballpark.
something to try anyways!

awesome

will give them both a go and how it runs
just checked the timing in diag mode and i was abit out (6/7deg) but that was too far retarded so it was running about 3deg btdc not 10 where it should have been, if it was right though the timing adv issues would have just been worse

cheers!
