Flash tool pop up.jpg
Ok i have thread the flashtool notes and trying to do get bins of my pcm for backups and so i can work out which version it is.

While connecting it goes through a lot of stuff before staying a while on "Waiting for 50ms of silence"

Then this pop up window came up, i havnt gone past this stage yet as i dont know what to do in this window.

What do i do?

PS: ignore the background pic, im lending my little sisters laptop lol.

Ok after i posted that i clicked cancel and tried again. Sucessfuly got 2 bins now, gona get a few more just to be safe.

Using the memcal id tool, it states my bin is:

$060 VY V6 ECOTEC Revision B

I can only find a $060 A xdf, can someone point me which direction or xdf to use?

With the flash tool change it to wait for 15ms & all will be sweet!

Was something we brought up a couple of weeks ago & works great with 15ms(not as good as on a bench but good all the same!)

I'll have a look today at $06oa Vs $06ob
& see what differences!

EDIT:
Just looked at another discussion I'd had about $06oa Vs $06ob & looks like offset changes somewhere around $5F1B so if you need to modify anything after that area let me know & I'll add & start another XDF!

That would be greatly appreciated!
At this stage all i wish to change is:
Change the Base injector rate, which the $060A has the wrong values for.
Disable EGR. (less important)
And modify spark advance (incase the ecotec tables cause knocking)

I have compared the afr and spark advance between the ecotec and l67 tunes, the ecotec is richer in most locations. And seems a acceptable base.
I havn't looked in power enrichment yet. Someone else probably has much more insight than me into this. I wont be playing with fuel anytime soon.

The spark tables however, the ecotec runs almost 11 degree's more timing in certain locations, and in other locations 15 degree's less. Which has me a little concerned it might knock, so i would like to be able retard the timing if it is.

Is it hard to make a XDF?
I will pull another bin today that i can upload.

Here's a quick moded of the old V2.2 & got rid of anything I'm really un-sure of & still not positive about everything but just moved around as close as I could with as much time I can permit today!

So got up to 74C4, but that covers pretty much all you've asked for so far!

No Worries Brados,

I'd just like to thank all the guys on here that have helped me get to this point with being able to put back in a bit(if only all shared!).

Here's the finished xdf, but again I re-iterate it's just a copy of what was already out there just tidied up & moved wrong items(on this note the old xdf should be pulled down, as the flags & masks at 4010 area don't work trust me i've tried for both vats & manual & definitely at the area in this & other $060A XDF).

It seems all the A, B & C variants of $06 have the Engine flags & masks at the same point!

B.T.W. Brados the other XDF wouldn't have done it all for you if you've looked the EGR enable is near the end of the cal file!

Cheers to the friggen weekend!

I had noticed the EGR is still throwing up codes, but i was so happy to have the car running it didn't phase me. And its not bringing up the check engine light anyway.

Im trying to do logs with tunerpro RT but it wont detect or connect to my ECU. My comm port is com 3 but i cant select it in tunerpro as it only has com 1 as an option.

Any idea's?

EFIlivev4 works fine but given its only evaluation i cant do a whole lot with it. Really like to get tunerproRT working.

Yeah it normally only shows you whats available!

So plug usb aldl cable in then start tunerpro & try which ever one's are there!

Just make sure your using the native tunerpro plugin & NO other modified 1's!
