the engine light will be on when the engine is not running but the ignition is on

well a log will give you the answer to that aswell in the malfunction flags section.

engine light is possibly if you have not changed knock sensor back to the early style

the engine light is just coz of the coolant temp sensor. have you swapped the sensor to buick cts? they are different.

changed the knock sensor i changed the temp sensor the one that has to wires

well if you have the right sensor in there you might have a wiring issue..... also i've seen the plugs sometimes get a bit dodgy and the pins push out the back of it when you connect it to the sensor.

fixed nvram issue i had the wires around the wrong way the injectors had contant power and ecu had the switched power all good now
