I think it will make my life a lot easier!!

How did you go with fault finding for what was causing the VSS error & putting it into limp home?

Hey mate, im only grasping as straws at the moment due to my lack of experience but my investigations lead me to transmission issues, internals (1-2 accumulator modified to have NO spring) and a modified transgo plate...
The vss error only kicks on on 1-2 upshift at vss reading of 55... But I'm WOT so forced change is supposed to be 64km/h..
When I'm not driving it like I stole it lol it's actually going pretty well
Still will get a wideband kit, but more importantly I plan to get trans back to stock ASAP...

Trans's aren't my strong suit, so maybe someone else may be able to chime in there?
But with VSS being out I know it is on the dash but it's actually correct as far as the PCM, engine speed & trans speed goes!

Can anyone shed some light on any action that is required to trigger a vss fault? That might give me enough direction. To solve the issue...
I'm probably trying to chase something that's not even there...
Doesn't hurt to ask though

this is for vs, but im sure same conditions apply being 4L60e still
DTC 24 Will set if the VSS circuit is open from a standing stop. As the vehicle is accelerated the transmission will shift from 1st to 2nd gear at approximately 54 km/h. If the VSS signal is not present, DTC 24 will be set.
So id check it's connected properly and if that's ok then consider replacing the sensor.

Hey The1, yeah, have already replaced sensor due to having dtc24 triggering constantly, will have to do some further testing, max redline is at 64 with rpm redline raised to 6300...
Not sure if its wiring because fault only occurs at WOT... If I back off a bit it's perfect

the fault causes redline shift to occur at 55km/h if the fault still exists and sensor has been replaced then either there is a wiring fault between the ecu and sensor or ecu is at fault.

Awesome... I'll continue to troubleshoot and see how I go with it all...
Thankyou all who contributed assistance...
Will post more info as it becomes available...

there's good wiring diagrams in the wiring section if you need them.
