Holden/Delco Tuning. ALDL, OBD 1.5. Circa 1989 to 2004.

It should be ALDL... car year is 1996, and no OBD2 tools are working... 1st of all getting the comunication working, is the first step... how can I test it without tunerpro DEFS ?

log some chatter in the car and see if it looks like aldl frames and what device ids are on the bus

after few days of datalogging, i realized that my serial port or DIY interface, generate random data. This happens only when i set 8228 baud, but tunerpro says that everything work.... so i found a old IBM with P3 and 64MB with integrated serial port... going to test with this... BTW, do you think widnows terminal is enough to log data?

Yeah you need either a built in com port, or an FTDI chipset usb to serial. They are one of the brands that can do 8192 baud. Most other usb to serial chipsets give you 9600 when you ask for 8192.

Once you have that get the flashtool from here: https://pcmhacking.net/forums/view ... p?f=3&t=82

Set up the com port and use tools->listen to chatter to do the logging. Windows terminal wont be able to display the raw data.
