As you know the roadrunner is an add on piece of hardware that works with EFILive and TunerCat.
If we treat the the RTLS1 PCM as an add on (PCM hardware only) it's cost would be around $1000 and
does not incur a licence fee of $199 like the roadrunner.

So the difference in hardware cost is only $200.
Benefits of the RTLS1 PCM over moates roadrunner Emulation PCM
---------------------------------------------------------------
- The RTLS1 does not emulate real time. The RTLS1 operates in Realtime just like a Motec, Autronic, Haltech after market ECU.
- All communications is Ethernet RJ45 (10 Mbps) built in. High speed logging is available at 100 fps which is 10 times faster than the roadrunner or any tuning tool using the OBD-II protocol.
- High speed logging makes it possible to accurately pin point knock position allowing for more efficient spark tables to be developed.
- A/F ratios also can be adjusted more accurately during transition areas which cannot be seen let alone be tuned with OBD-II logging speeds.
- Changing Data Parameters IMMEDIATELY in Real Time.
- Upload/Download ENTIRE Data/Parameters in just under 2 seconds
- High Speed Data Logging requests 700 PIDs all at the same time with each frame at 90+ frames per second, unlike OBD-II logging which requests one pid after the other at 10 fps.
Try logging 50 pids with any OBD-II tuning tool. Frame rate will probably be down to 1 or 2 frames per second. Just imagine the logging detail that can be achieve at 90 fps for accurate tuning.
- You never have to pay for any Licences. Tune as many cars as you wish.
- Uses the highly popular TCP/IP protocol. Yes, your car even gets its own IP!
- Wireless connection possible using Wireless Access Points/Bridge (Feel like datalogging from the grandstand?)
- Even tune a car over the Internet!
- View your car's status via a webpage. (RPM, Coolant, Temp etc.)
