If your that worried about timing chain stretch just grab one of the rollmaster timing chain sets all billet gears and double row chain but you definitely will have to remove the balance shaft

yeah thats good point actually. Are they easy to setup?

EDIT: roll master make single row performance sets so that would probably suit better.

well i got it home, was a bit of an adventure.

the guys at the dealer ship didn't put fuel in it, ran out literately up the road after I left lol. they came around with a Jerry can and fueled it up a bit.

also being a low k engine the oil was really bad, probably hadn't been changed in years and just sat in a garage. So I got the oil changed at a garage not far from the sale yard before I took off home from Adelaide back to vic, the oil was thick and sticky, the additives had gone off and was on it way to sludge but was caught just in time.

After that drama, flawless drive home, nearly hit some sheep and came close to running out of fuel in the middle of nowhere and then drove to Bendigo Maiden Gully fuel station only to find it demolished, then crawled to another one in town. At that point I wasn't sure how much was left but I did about 30km with the reserve light on. That was about 700km on almost a full tank and I wasn't conservative at all, quite the opposite in fact lol.

It drives fantastic and has some balls too. Its like mint! more mint condition than I thought it would be.



A thought occurred on the way home, VRs done have the VSS wired direct to the speedo do they?

here is a part throttle acceleration with economy mode, has way more balls than my VP and its stock.

Yeah the auto PCM converts the reluctor sensor to a square wave and divides it before being sent to the dash.

its not very accurate or responsive. at 110 my GPS says its going 116 and slowing down and accelerating is does nothing for +/- 5k change in speed.

my VP on the other hand is dead accurate, only out by 1 k in some areas.

anyway here are some pics, man this car is awesomely mint. I am going to have to ask my boss to get me a company car, this is way too good to trash driving in Melbourne.

Ok, so had a bit of a read of the repining thread, looks easier for me to just use a VN/VP loom and 808.

Now with the VR BCM communication I need this SRX emulator? Any info about that?

would like to have it run the VR VATS if i can.

sorry answering the wrong question, only just noticed the sxr one. An 808 with VL400s sxr board becomes a VR manual ecu. It replaces the missing chip which is the only difference between the two ecus. Once you have it, you can run a vr manual bin or 12p with vats type set to VR.

I cant comment on the injectors, i dont see a part number and have no experience with them.
