You can also install this inside the ECU if you cant find an interface plug .. http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=164

It could be an intermittent fault from a bad connection?
I used to get this code all the time but when the car was just started and idling. And only in this condition.

Then it went away after a year and never again. Then 2 weeks ago my fan wouldn't come on but did in diag mode and temp sensor and reading were fine. I replaced the ECU and I so far I have not had either problem.

Not sure if you've solved the problem.

When I did the EFI conversion in my WB it took anything from 2 mins to 2 days for this code to be set. thought it was an intermittent fault as all I found at first was the description "CODE 24 VSS". Got sick of it so searched further and found the description above then it clicked, it was not an intermittent fault, it just varied how long it took to meet these conditions. Turned out the ECU had no VSS signal the whole time.

If the speedo works then it would indicate a fault between the sensor and the ECU.

I just realized something from one of the guys here said the VSS signal goes to the cluster and then the cluster re-sends out the signal to the ECU at a lower speed. If this is a case, you still could have a bad or missing signal to the ECU and the speedo would work if its wired the same as VN-VP.

Yeah it's because I didn't have the cluster wired up.
