taking a look at everything VS-VY:
VS V6 and V8 are interesting.
VT V6 and V8, very much the same as VS, interesting.
VX V6 is like VS/VT, interesting.
VX V8 is exciting.
VY V6 is like VS/VT/VX, interesting
VY V8 is much like VX V8, exciting(diagrams are somewhat confusing though).
are VX and VY PCMs the same between a V6 and V8? and are V6 or V8 VX and VY PCMs the same?

VS V8 auto is the '424 PCM mentioned earlier in this thread which dont offer many spare I/O pins.
VS V6 and VT V6 are similar. VS series 3 V8 and VT series 1 use a V8 versions of this ECU.
VX and VY V6 use upgraded hardware with flash memory and a higher clocked HC11.
VT series 2,VX and VY V8 are LS1 so use a 68332 PCM (same as what you got in the US).

crap.... i was hoping the VX and VY V8 were 6811... 8 cylinder SFI and coil per cylinder ignition capabilities along with the load of other functions would have been nice to have.
so, i guess i'm limited to VX and VY V6 and possibly VS and VT V6 PCMs(and apparently VS S3 and VT S1 when 8 cylinder control is needed) to get any forward progress.

VT v6 PCM's are easy to get a hold of as they ran for a couple years and were the bulk of sales.
VT v8 PCM's are a bit like rocking horse shit as only ran for one year and then replaced by LS1. Wreckers typically demand big dollars for anything that says V8 on it, even ECU's that are the same service part number as a v6!
EDIT: Also plenty of VX/VY flash PCM's around as these ran for about 4 years.

sounds like VX/VY V6 is going to be the winner so far. any more pics/info, especially of what i assume are the output drivers that are heatsinked right behind the main connectors? kind of looks like there are 3 groups of 7, of which 13 are actually populated enough to be used?
i guess there is only so much you can do with a single 6811.

Here are some hi-res images of the VT V6 ECU's, will see if I can get something similar for the VX/VY over the weekend if nobody else has posted anything up before then.

that actually looks somewhat similar to the 94-95 3800s we got in the US, but with a much simpler board layout.
