Dylan I would assume the v8 doesn't have a blower and piping after the iac

Delcowizard I might try turning the spark off and just use the iac. I have added a hole in the throttle plate ages back when I was playing with it and didn't touch the Ecu and just kept making the hole bigger until the iac steps stopped fluctuating so much. The other option could be to just run on timing and blank off the iac and go old school carbie style and just use the throttle stopper but don't really want to do that.

Holden 202 your not wrong with changing piping etc to stuff up idle I would have thought the turbo setup would have been more forgiving.

Dylan by memory it was around 0.9-0.92 lambda at idle for the cam liking a little more fuel at idle generally.

A technically question if I plug my tuning PCM back in and turn off the spark and block learn function and then get my idle back where it should be do I save the bin before after turbing block learn back on to burn into the EPROM in the original PCM.

Is there any good processes from going from one PCM to the other

Try 14.2afr for idle. Check that what's commanded and what you are actually getting are the same. there's alot of coolant and intake air temp corrections that can swing idle afrs.

A2A with MAP should be just like tuning an 8. MAP references to the intake manifold

funniest thing I ever saw was an l67 running off an 808... and the MAP sensor was plugged into the throttle body before hte supercharger!! on boost the pcm only saw 100 kpa :comp:

must be a common enough mistake to put the map sensor there and forget it needs to be under the charger.

Not 100% on what the a/f are at idle I'm only guessing that's what it would roughly be as there has been to many cars in between to know what I have set it at.

The main issue is swapping the Ecu's around brings the idle up so need to sort that out and then maybe try get the idle around the 900rpm.

I've double checked that the map reference is correct it does show up in the software by memory in the 100-200kpa map.

Last l67 cam with a2a I did idled nicely at 800-850rpm. It does take a bit of mucking around but once it's nailed it's pretty stable and nice to drive.

Getting it to idle 800-850 was that map or maf based?

Both, MAF i did about 6 years ago but from memory idle was easy, but you had to play with transients. for MAP idle was harder but transients were ok haha. Are you working on one?

Yeah & it's manual so transients are even more critical!
It's maf setup so a bit off topic here!

yes! do you have a thread? post up a tune, log and mods and I'll have a look if you want

Vx getrag that's the big difference your using a maf and what size cam did it have this has a decent cam in it and using a 2 bar map sensor.

The issue isn't getting it down to the 1050-1100 rpm the owner was fine with at that I would have liked it around 900-950.

The issue was swapping from a tuning Ecu to another Ecu with the burnt tune on a memcal to get it replicate the idle as it didn't it went up to 1550 and won't come down. Plug the tuning Ecu in with the tune in it and it will idle as set
