Re: 14Point7 Spartan Wide Band Kit
I haven't actually tested it yet. All the ECU and electronic side of things are done. Engine and car wont be ready til early next year I reckon.
I don't think NB will be a problem, NB is NB regardless of how you look at it. all NBs should work the same and should be universal. So if its simulating a NB the assumption is its outputting like a regular NB would.
Some info or there operation. Interesting how they fail as well.

Re: 14Point7 Spartan Wide Band Kit
ive never had a wideband plug and play and work closed loop.they dont generally swing far enough rich lean to trigger crosscounts in the ecu.i have messed with my LM1 and adjusted the sim output voltage scale to read in the datastream like a narrowband would but its still nothing like a narrowband.just fit another bung and run both
If Its Got Gas Or Ass Count Me In.if it cant be fixed with a hammer you have an electrical problem

or if its just for tuning, run it with no NB!
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Re: 14Point7 Spartan Wide Band Kit
and do yourself a favour and buy a cheap 18x1.5mm tap to chase O2 bung threads before fitting your sensor in any cars its harsh when you ruin a $100 sensor when it gets stuck in there after 10 minutes of use and the thread peals off when you try get it out

Re: 14Point7 Spartan Wide Band Kit
That's what I like about this not needing 2 bungs. If I went with 2 would I be better of with the innovate LC2?

Re: 14Point7 Spartan Wide Band Kit
it really doesn't matter what wideband you decide on, aslong as its accurate. the two bungs is only really necessary if you want to retain a narrowband at the same time as having a wideband in there! on my race car I don't have a narrowband at all I just use the wideband for tuning and it just runs in open loop the rest of the time, but you might want to have a narrowband in there for long term street driving!
i'll add to that list delco, mate bumping it off the bench and then it not working afterwards (heater circuit error)

lol how does that happen?delcowizzid wrote:and do yourself a favour and buy a cheap 18x1.5mm tap to chase O2 bung threads before fitting your sensor in any cars its harsh when you ruin a $100 sensor when it gets stuck in there after 10 minutes of use and the thread peals off when you try get it out
I never ever had a O2 thread damage. I always find them the easiest sensor to get in or out actually.
The anti seize paste they come with helps a lot.

Here's a log from a Spartan's simulated NB:

Re: 14Point7 Spartan Wide Band Kit
looks pretty good! so i assume you have the spartan in your car festy ?
as for thread damage to o2's pretty easy to do if you try to remove the sensor which the exhaust is still hot!
i did it once luckily with an old NB o2 when i fit bungs to the exhaust i always put an old sensor in them to hold onto them to get the angle right and also to keep the bung from distorting as much while welding, and it pulled half the thread out of the bung when i removed it!

200-800mv swings sounds about right to me. I don't know much about the cross counts though.
