Yep, sure was, was only fitted when vehicle was fitted a bcm (presumably due to keyless entry option)

My s1 vn ss has the glove box switch, my s2 executive has the pillar job, both with bcm's, don't have key fobs or keys for either cars though...

VP by default do not have a BCM, even the luxury models like berlina, not sure about calais though. I'd say they wouldn't either but might be a low spec one like late VR exec

They run a anti theft module with built in radio receiver.

They are physically hardware coded to the key fob code via cutting tracks on the PCB. I have successfully recoded few fobs to work with unmatched ATMs

All the ATM does is switch on 12+ to A6, nothing special. Also sends a signal to the central locking module like a on/off, no data is involved in VPs and VN dont come with them standard.

They are a mongoose factory unit, some apparently came with Bosch units but I never seen on.

The door pillar switch just bypasses the unit to provide A6 with 12V, also it disables the unit so it does not beep all the time.

VATS in VP/VN has no involvement from the tune side.

EDIT. the pic comes up black for some odd reason, until you click on it, then it shows fine :?:
MOD EDIT: looks like the new thumbnailing stuff hates that gif file... ive resaved it as a PNG and it seems to work ok
