What Flaring Tool?

thanks all.
i got a Ridgid 345DL. was 130 bucks, but, first flare i did, no problems. definately a worthwhile investment in a proper flaring tool. 2nd flare i did, still no problems, so, theres a recurring theme here

Just thought I'd chime in here on a tool I've used before this unit http://m.ebay.com/itm/361250492434 this is awesome expensive but well worth the money you pay for it works every time and I use it for truck air over hydraulic brake systems with some serious brake pressure in them

Are you not flaring hardline for AN fittings? Thats a 45 degree flare tool.

Thats a very nice bit of gear, had come up a few times as recommended in my searching for flare tools. Seems to be the pick of the 'affordable' hydraulic setups.

yeah that would be heaps better for doing it in the car too!

Yea that's why we got it because 3/4 of the brake lines in trucks are big long buggers and are fitted to the chassis before anything else so we fed the brake lines throught bent it up in place secured it cut it to length then flared it in place so didn't have to use heaps of joiners and flare nuts

i didn't end up using the AN fittings. i'm using brass fittings which are 45.
as it stands i might end up ripping the fuel lines out and replacing them in their entirety
