Wow, I ordered the Rpi yesterday afternoon and it was here when I got up at 11.30 this morning. Most impressed with it coming from Christchurch, most local Auckland suppliers can't get stuff to your door overnight
Anyway I got the starter kit so it's got almost everything required, now to start reading instructions which isn't going well suffering from my night shift hangover (only got about 3 hours sleep today).

Over night! Damn, I don't remember the last time something popped up over night.
Might be best to do the same thing and get the starter kit with the case, wifi, power supply ect.

I use a PI2 with kodi on my tv... might upgrade it to a PI3, and use the pi2 for this...
looks like it could work better than adblock plus I normally use.

This is what I received today

Adblock+ works in chrome for the most part but other programs etc aren't covered so this blanket advert kill box has to be better.
I'll plug mine in tomorrow when the hangover is gone hopefully.

ABP snd uBlock are a bit limited imho. I have run uBlock with anti anti ad blocks that a lot of site use now and it just break the sites so nothing loads at all, at least not the contented.

I find things go through cycles, mostly ads don't work but then you get the occasional site that does have ads but then on other occasions the ads don't work on the same site?
Either way this will be a step forward

yep. i was the same with adblock plus.
trap for new players. if you run a DNS server because you are wierd like me and run vSphere hosts at home ; make sure in the config you setup your (own) DNS server as the first point of reference then google on 8.8.8.8
like this

Just looking at the github page it appears the actual blocker is just a host file, albeit a huge host file.
