The Silver delphi maf isn't to much different from a stock maf, Cylair isn't calculated just from maf it's a number of things.
There are multiple things that work off MAF G/S, alot of the transmission code calculates a filtered TPS to use as a lookup on the tables which is based off MAF G/S, so if the tables get fiddled with then it can screw up the rest of the cal.
If you were changing to a Card MAF then it's way different and it's all going to need a retune so it wouldn't matter either way.
