When giving a bootful it's nice and rich and lot less likely to knock. It does point back to a sick injector possibly. I went through the same shit with our old VS, on that it was the lean cruise going way to lean and getting knock when applying a little load like going up an incline when cruising on the motorway, give it a boot and the problem went away. I went through multiple sets of leads and plugs, even coils before changing injectors and new O2 sensors. Once it was tuned up a bit it ran sweet (except for the slipping trans).
