I've restarted TP5 whilst it's connected to the ecm, "Hardware Not Found" shows up down the bottom. I done this several times.

Does the flashtool work to do a 'get bin'? Follow instructions here if you need the setup, basically just select the com port and tick ignore echo ... https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=82

What are the LEDs on the comms board doing when your trying to connect?

VL400, sorry for the delay in responding, this is what I've found.
When trying to connect TP5 (ign on)USB PWR=blue led on
TX led =red led flashes while trying to connect, then goes out (when no hardware shows up)
RX led = nothing
Install Flash Tool V1.27, Press Connect to ECM, same as above accept TX led flashes faster. Attached is the detailed info. Hope this is of some use.

is the ignore echo tick box wrong ? should be unticked in the preferences ?

Have PM'd you some things to try in regard to the USB board - its not TP related so will keep it separate from this thread.

USB interface must have the ignore echo tick box checked, which the log says you have done.
