2002 Pontiac GTP 40th anniversary cant read or com with pcm

No communications with the PCM at all. Check your power and data wiring and make sure the ignition is on.

Get to the point where you can do a "get properties" and get basic information about OSID etc back from the PCM before attempting anything more.

i wouldnt be asking as a mopar tech if i hadn't exhausted all of possibility's of connection issues as well as com issues like OnStar radio ect i think im going to try and bench flash it after a trip to the jy to get the plugs i need to do so and if it works its something i probably dont have the time to tear apart n see, as i know the steering Colum has ben out and they may have done something there, and it says unknown pcm and doesnt error out saying couldnt communicate with pcm right? wires are there that are supposed to be and more for it do do its thing. maybe the jet dst box is broken someway or another.

If you look at the debug log, you only see TX (transmit) and not a single RX (receive) from the car. You can see its failing everything it tries due to no response as it goes through all options and recovery options, the "cant recognise" is assumimg something is connected (true) but it cant talk to it (also true in your case). Its probably a bad connection between pcm and obd port on ground or vpw, bench is a good idea to work around that.

well looks like my homemade benchtop VCM programmer is tits. she working well farthest ive ever got, selling jet dst.....if anyone.......anyway got a OBDLinkSX and obdwiz was confused by the wizardry and pcm hammer FTW!!!!! thanks antus your right about the rx. here is another bump i hit, 2000pcm that performance shift works on, out of car bench mode.

pcm repair also seems to be working 100% as im able to get farther, but im sure those cracked solder joints still connected, the car ran good, had hiccups once a start tho. weird shit i thought was the tune. guess not folks, use cpu bracket when using k&n and dont let it bounce around!
