Here's an indication of stock PE settings vs Modified overlay.

Re: Tuning my VY V6 Manual for 98 octane
Here's another example. I've now added around another 1 degree but found around peak cylinder pressure, or peak torque 3600-4000rpm I started picking up a bit of knock. but the engine theoretically seems to like the extra timing down low. So I've gone in and changed the multiplier to reflect this.

You can also setup Your own history tables. I find it's easier sometimes, Rather then looking at the data monitors.

Re: Tuning my VY V6 Manual for 98 octane
You do this by clicking the little cog icon. Go down to history tables. Add new item. And filling it out how you like with what info you want to see. So in the stock ADX you've got knock logging for cylinder 1. you can make 5 more copy's of it but enter say cylinder 2,3,4,5,6 ect. Or you can set one up to log what ever. tps vs rpm vs knock ect. This is the same way you set things up for say a wideband or one of the spare pcm inputs.

Re: Tuning my VY V6 Manual for 98 octane
Not sure if you remember the old Gibson Motorsports gt-r from Bathurst? But they tried putting restrictions on that because of how fast it was
. They done individual cylinder tuning on it and gained all that power back. We have the ability to do individual cylinder spark in these pcm’s as well. So maybe look into individual cylinder tuning. You can log knock on each cyl, and change spark on each cyl. Would be good to have good injector data and flow figures of each injector as well. There’s also things like spark plug indexing. Use to work well on old engines, not sure what gains an Ecotec would get though? But there’s plenty of info online about this kinda stuff

That was a very interesting vodeo. I woulde still go off my wideband and knock sensor but also have a look at the plugs.

Re: Tuning my VY V6 Manual for 98 octane
I noticed the Ecotec seems to respond well to richer afr’s as well. But then they become fuel guzzlers. Setting the commanded afr’s to say 12.8 across the board, the engine is way more responsive and a lot more get up and go. But then knock also increases. So I think there is some gains to be had from transient fuelling and then obviously you’d need to look at the main timing maps. I think there’s ae tables but also maf tables. You can do a compare of the vy eco series 1 and 2 tunes and you’ll see the changes they made from the factory. Those changes were obviously emissions related. But yeah I’d love anyone with more experience on those maf tables to come forward.

here's another thing that's different from series 1 to 2. Hot open loop seems to be disabled in series 1 but not in series 2.
