I never tried PcmHammer. That's weird because when I did a full write of my bin using a forum members software it only took 4-5 minutes for a E38 2mb GM ecu. I was told that's good. Thanks for your reply.

E38 is can bus. A can bus flash uses normal size data packets at normal speed. PCM Hammer speaks to GM VPW protocol pcms. For that one flashing uses longer packets and optionally speeds the bus up to 4x. Some tool makers that put VPW in their tool dont implement 4x speed in which case the flash is 4x slower than those that do or they dont implement long data packets, in which case it cant be used for reflashing. Usually pack size is a hardware limitation because they were not aware of the flash procedure and dont have enough ram for buffer size in the mcu in the interface and they built it just to log. Lack of 4x is usually just because they were not aware of it when they designed the tool and it can sometimes be added in a firmware update to support the speed change command and speed the timings up in the tool by 4x if they learn of the 4x protocol and want to develop it in.

Update. Scanmatik 2.21.22 will not clear the DTC codes from the ECU's I tested. a 2007 Sliverado, and a 2015 Equinox.
