I have no interest in spending and more time on that interface. If someone else wanted to and send us a pull request it could be added to the app. Note that they are not downgradeable so you cant go back to an earlier version, and too early is buggy and doesnt work also. Half the problem is not just firmware version, but changing the chips and internal ID numbers without changing the product name or packaging. A configuration item to set packet sizes might be nice, but also might cause problems. Say we defaulted it to 512 byte for STN devices like these, and allowed up to 2048 bytes if the user selects it. What happens if someone forgets they changed it, or is using 2 devices and one works and one does not? Most people will get it right but you won't hear from them. We'll only here from the person who gets it wrong and says pcmhammer doesn't work and then it costs someone else time to help them figure it out. I think slow instead of very slightly less slow with new problems is a good middle ground.

I'd certainly rather the wizards be working on supporting more ECUs than eeking out niche serial speed gains.
20 minutes and free software... I'll happily take that. Things working after the flashing is the important part.
Get a UlinkNT and solder the BDM wires if you want speed. 40 seconds I think.

Biggest issues I come across is low battery voltage while reading/writing.
Alot of people try in vehicle (Even though its not really recommended) without a good battery charger fitted.

So if reading/writing takes in excess of 10-20+ minutes, usually the battery will begin dropping under 10volts and begin having flash failures.
Speed is not everything, but it certainly helps minimize the failures that occur.
