VL400 thanks again.

What Would Happen If someone loaded a complete bin onto a PCM with having cleared the rx'd area?
Also what would happen if they flashed a bin in & ignored the check sum correction in flash tool?
I've been trying to help a guy in QLD who hasn't completely read up on it & want to try & identify what he may have done as he's commanded 11.5 in pe in a few area's but it's not coming out of closed loop!
just trying to figure out comes with he has does too!

First up, tuning changes should only use write cal. Nothing will happen if you flash in a bin without clearing the register data as its not used unless he has chosen to write the eeprom data. A wrong checksum just gives a cel.

Yeah I know about the cal only, but he didn't listen to me I think?
Cool about flashing in cleared RX, let's hope he ticked the part NO for eeprom data!
With check engine light for check sum does that also mean limp home or just CEL?
Thanks for replying

Should be only a CEL if its just the cal that has changed without fixing the checksum.

Was just going to post about going from 1.33 to 1.34 as it seems to me it's having a lot more trouble disabling chatter in 1.34 compared to 1.33 I've attached a inf file for it!
but it may be all useless as I noticed 1.35 now so I'll give it a go!

There is no difference in any of the versions in terms of comms, they were just minor updates. Version 1.34 added the logger rtc support and 1.35 had a change for memory addressing with some new PCM boards.

1.28 is happier to conenct in my VY than 1.32/1.34 ( i haven't tried every version)
1.34 works ok if I canhenge preferences: Wait For Silence = 15mS, 1.28 is happy at 50mS

cool on both note's thanks guys!
I did try 1.33 & 1.35 as reference & yeah same for all wouldn't connect without me quickly flicking key off then on (split second) & then would connect to read data & then had to do the same thing to disconnect!
But I'll try those settings mentioned above!

V1.28 was when I changed the listen for silence code to improve the detection (to try and stop that scrolling like mad that you posted vx l67 getrag) but since then the updates have not changed much of the ALDL code - the only real change was an issue with flash PCMs when the checksum was not 4 digits (ie 0x0123 would be 123 and it would crash).
What speed laptops are you using? Windows does not give you access to the serial port exactly when you request it, and as you dont get a huge amount of free time after the heartbeat frame I would say slower laptops may not handle it as well as newer ones.
If you find 15mS works better can change the vehicle preferences to use that instead, 50mS was just what the standard wait time normally is and what worked for me.
