Hotrod convertion
Re: Hotrod convertion
I run a wire from A8 to pin 9 obd moved the wire from pin 9 to pin 6 pin 5 ground checked all the other wires tried the flashtool no go. Went to a mates place and tried the flashtool in a VT Commodore no response no hardware detected. Only thing that I haven't tried is a another laptop. What else can I do my second laptop has windows 7 and can't load the drivers without a disc from the manufacturer.

You shouldnt need any drivers on win7, it'll install from the net if the net is available when you plug it in.

sorry Antus the drivers wont auto load on this laptop tried to manually load but it said system error needs disc from supplier to load
Re: Hotrod convertion
Maybe burn the files to a disc? I've ran them on windows 7 a few times. Think I loaded them through device manager manually?

That laptop does not sound healthy
You said you plug the cable in the com port does appear in a prior post. You should be able to watch the device manager, plug the aldl interface in to the computer (no car required) and the drivers should happen and a com port should appear. Then you unplug the aldl interface and the com port should dissappear. You can do this a couple of times to make sure you have the right com port number and all is functioning. Get this bit sorted before connecting the car, as there is no point going further until this is sussed out.

Tell him he might need a windows 7 dvd too... if thats what its saying i suspect some major windows component is missing or has a problem. It doesnt sound like your just missing the FTDI drivers.

Re: Hotrod convertion
Hmmmm. This has nothing to do with anything called "driver cam". Do you use this laptop for anything else? It might be worth putting a fresh new windows install on it over the top and starting again if you can. I know that sounds like a sledge hammer but the problems your having sound too technical to use general trouble shooting on the forums. You need someone local to you to either fix it up, or start again with a fresh copy of windows.
From the questions your asking though I would recommend seeking help thats local to you.
