Lol. It was a bit like that. Although about 20kg of dry ice makes the job easier and when you get to the cork style deadener like on the trans tunnel, leave it there until you hear it start to crack from the cold before hitting it with a hammer. Took me a while to work that one out.

35kg is a fair loss. I bet that would be noticeable.

I think the car is pretty light, haven't had it on the scales yet though. A mate of mine has a set of longacre scales, I'm trying to get him to lend them to me. I would love to find out what it weighs before I put the cage in.

I notice about 30kg in my VS, logs show about 0.20sec 0-100 quicker, that's with my big sub, toolbox and other stuff out my boot. So id image all the weight loss would help acceleration heaps out of the corners.

It's hard to say to be honest. I haven't had mine down the quarter, and I never do just one thing when I take it off the track, so I would just be speculating as to where the gains have actually been. I think for the drags, it's much easier to pin point what gave you the gain.

Easy to find out the effect - reverse it!
Do a run or two then add a chunk of weight and go for it again.

thinking of doing that on my VP. After having the console out for a while, still waiting for my upholstery to be done I have quite enjoyed the extra road, trans and engine noise coming up though the leaky shifter boot. I reckon without deadener it would give the car a better interior raw sound with bonus weigh reduction.
It will sound like every WRX every built

Lol. Funny you say that. Not much sound deadening in wrxs. I belong to the QLD Rex club, and when I told them I took nearly 40kg of sound deadening out of my commodore,no one believed me. All the guys with wrxs that have done it, have been lucky to see half of that amount.

Dont know what one sounds like from the inside.
I know what skyline GTR sounds like though, they sound metally inside, I guessing not much deadening in them.
