Re: DELCOS NEW RIDE
so that motor above with the clean pistons is the one that you had in the VB when it over boosted ? if your taking the sump off it at all I highly recommend a torch around the bottoms of the pistons, when my brothers overboosted and cracked a piston you couldn't see it from the top, it cracked around the second ring and down to the base of the oil ring where the skirt is split!
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Re: DELCOS NEW RIDE
worth checking for bearing damage too, slight bend in the rods is also possible if big detonation occurred.
I'm the director of VSH (Vlad's Spec Holden), because HSV were doing it ass about.

Re: DELCOS NEW RIDE
still had oil pressure when it shut off LOL.easiest way to check its condition put heads on and fire it up for skids LOL.it turns over freely so not any badly bent parts yet plus done a few checks feeler gauge round the pistons to check for broken rings and dislodged bits of ringland if it still has normal oil psi and doesnt fume at all shes going again LOL.

Re: DELCOS NEW RIDE
it never even detonated and rattled and was no smoke trail during the pass pistons and plugs didnt even have any signs of det she be fine i reckon .parts tend to break from preignition more than det thats when pistons shatter or burn and rods bend bearings get flattened etc.the tunes safe and avgas keeps it far from det even when lean as at 21psi holding it at 4000 it wouldnt detonate not from lack of trying lol

Re: DELCOS NEW RIDE
Can't believe this engine.it's the little bitch engine that could lol.New ported heads on fired up like clockwork oil pressure off the gauge no shakes no noises no smoke or fumes can't believe it handled well over 30psi and the sudden loss of fuel when the map hose blew off lol.let's see if it has another 5 year's in it.will be running it fully upto temp tomorrow then retorquing heads and refitting the turbo kit

Re: DELCOS NEW RIDE
they normally run around 70-100 psi oil depending on oil and temp iirc?
