Yes, fuel regulator. These are supposed to hold pressure for sometime after prime aren’t they. I have read all sorts of different opinions while searching this problem. I mean it does take 15 seconds for the pressure to bleed down to zero so fuel pressure does exist at first crank but maybe it drops to zero immediately on crank, haven’t checked that yet, At least I have proved that the pumps aren’t leaking pressure back into the tank but there still could be bad fuel in the surge tank coming through. Any input is appreciated, cheers

I've read a few after market adjustable ones claim this is normal, but I wouldn't accept a bleed off in pressure, maybe in hours or days, certainly not seconds. This is why I am reluctant to use any reg that isn't OEM.

So yeah, I guess it depends on what make of reg you are using. If it's OEM, sounds stuffed to me, after market adjustable, it might just be an inherent limitation.

Bad fuel is not the problem. The pressure drop is not a big issue as long as it comes up when cranking or in delco case key on. 15 seconds is a fast drop time but I have seen worse and it only casues a little starting issue. Update me with the problem. Weren't you initliaaly chasing a no spark condition.

Thanks Vlad, yes read the same. adjustable aeroflow aftermarket. Worked perfectly years ago and never had any starting problems and I am sure it used to hold pressure after prime but it was a long time ago.

thanks Charles, it was the CDI unit, swapped back to stock Camira coil and it now has spark but doesn’t want to start. It fires briefly now and then but it certainly seems like it’s not getting constant fuel.

Try running it on aerostart and that will help to determine if it's spark or fuel.

Yes it runs for a brief time with a shot of starting fluid.

I found the aeroflow fuel regulator instructions online and it should definitely hold constant pressure after priming. I have ordered a replacement and fingers crossed this should get it running. Thanks for everyone’s help.
