....on the proviso they are not kilkenny castings ones, ie: that they are original.
what was bad about the original vlad, was it badly corroded or cracked or could it be welded and re-finished?

The oil pump housings are scored and worn out, well at least on the upper limits of the tolerance.

The vacationer made a huge racket on startup from the oil pump and there is evidence the outer rotor was pounding a particular spot on the housing.

its oil pressure was lost immediately on shutdown so I knew it had issues with the oil pump and always after 30min the oil filter and pump emptied out despite being an anti drain, so that means the oil pump must of allowed air in and its initialing drain out. Because it drained out pump side of the filter not upward of it means air was getting in via the pump. Certainly no issues at the pickup so was the pump for sure.

ha! if you can find a wrecker who would sell you a cover and not the whole engine. other problem is given the age and km most engine have done, they wont be much better than the covers I already have. Ecotec ones are totally different. Also about to go obsolete and exy as atm.

over 300USD for ecotec one. There is some NOS ecotec ones on ebay atm for 850 odd bucks :wtf:

doesn't have to be VR, anything from late Vn to VR will do.

Funny thing is I had my old VR cover laying around and that was still pretty good but I let it go to scrap as I never had plans to build another pre ecotec.

well here I am haha

I googled that part number speed spares has and it came up on a toyota site as a sub assembly for VN lexen 11/90 to something or other 1991. So sound like the one.

both my old VP covers in the shed had different PNs and different again to this one listed, different also to my VR one. Fuck so many part numbers for the same part. Good on ya GM

So what you are saying is that my old VN one with less that 150 clicks on it is probably mint. Guess I better keep that puppy tucked away for a rainy day :)
