Yep, I'd just machine down a M10 bolt and re-thread it M8 and call it done. With a little care it should meet your level of OCD.
The other option would be to drill out the M10 boss to M12, fit a bolt, cut it off and then drill and tap for M8. Hell, just use one of these..

I'll wait after I buy some extractors. My knock sensor provisions might be accessible with the competition pacemakers over the standard ones.

loved my competition pacemakers years ago apart from dragging them on the road on sharp corners under heavy braking.definately woke up the old girl with twin 2.25" pipes all the way to the rear

how do you drag them on the road?
I'm going for them with a custom 2-1/4' Y pipe with twin cats to a VS 2.5" cat back since they are in the middle of the car not the left side like VR and prior.
According to the simulation my combo should make bit over 300hp lol, I doubt it will make that much but changing the exhaust model in the sim certainly woke up an already angry engine.

So I read a lot of you guys swear by NPC clutches.
Im going to send up my current setup and they will build a new one from scratch.
the AU clutch is only borderline now based on worst case simulation specs. even xr6 is fuck all better, so custom pressure plate time!

I managed to find OEM style aftermarket boot, and they are virtually identical to the originals.
even comes with the foam and the breather holes are moulded in but you need to punch the thin bit of rubber out.
$25 each so pretty pricey compared to other ones so hoping the quality is good based on that.

Cleaning up some ignition lead insulator tubes and their liners.

tubes in some acid i don't know but it only cleans off oxides of alloy leaving alloy perfectly untouched, leaving them super clean and bright.

Set up leads and indexed the plugs to the center of the combustion chamber. Used 2 sets of plugs to achieve this but got it!

I also ordered a thermostat and butterfly from Mace. The stat is trident performance range, so hopefully I wont have any dramas like I did the other year with those stats.
On a little side note, I killed a coil on the VP that I just installed hours before the other day. Story goes I pinched the nice coils from the VP for this engine and put some good but ascetically not as good coils back on the VP.
The good coils I washed and when I blow dry them with the air gun I noticed water gets into and around the terminal posts moulding. So I dried the fuck out of the coils for both engines. I had at that point put 2 and 2 together and realized how all my other engines got rusty terminals in the past after washing the engine.
The water gets into the gap in the molding at the base of the post and travels up and comes out under the terminal. Well heat and ozone takes care of making rust.
having this in mind I thought I better be careful when I go wash the engine bay later in the day, well water got in anyway and down the road I lost No.6 on the coils.
Sure enough water got down this microscopic gap and shorted the coil internally. Just pulled out another one and this time I soaked the gaps with super glue to water proof the coil. Looking at doing the same on all the others.

That engine looks mint! Are you going to HPC coat the Headers? Also another suggestion, have you considered modifying your power steering pump for a remote reservoir? Gives you the option to add a cooler later if you suffer cavitation. On the racetrack, its chronic.

This is what I plan to do on my VP S with ecotec conversion one day as new PS pumps for ecotec dont often some with the fitting pressed in, like where the hell am I suppose to get the fitting from? you destroy them getting the old one out. So tap and screw a standard one like that in and you're done!
But no, I haven't even had a problem with the PS, when I have issues the pump is f**ed and I buy a reco unit with 3 year 75k warranty and damn! does it make a difference! Only costs me something like 100 bucks or so.
