There not crash bars, there to stop the body twisting when you fit the heavy duty tow pack, don't think they were factory fitted as the tow bar isn't buy genuine parts they

But no, I haven't even had a problem with the PS, when I have issues the pump is f**ed and I buy a reco unit with 3 year 75k warranty and damn! does it make a difference! Only costs me something like 100 bucks or so.
Didn't mean it will prolong the life of the pump, but it will improve the performance of the power steering as well as stop ps fluid from being pushed out of the relief reservoir due to cavitation. Holden built these cars to a price. As enthusiasts, I think it's our duty to make sure we fix up their mistakes.

I just get them blasted and paint them with several coats of VHT 2000F paint and my last extractors are mostly still the black I painted 220k and 5 years ago.
But keen to try a coating like that to improve gas velocity.

Have the front struts mostly assembled. Had a look at some stock springs I had and noticed one of them the coil has fretted 1/5th of the cross section away between the coils.
Not sure about using these. I can wait when I remove the old struts and see if they have better springs. Or..... do aftermarket standard height springs perform better than stock?
Any recommendations of ideas? before anyone says it, no I'm now lowing it. I need standard height for the shit roads of Victoria.

You can get way eve height or stiffness you want, may be stock height but stiffer ? FE2 stiff ? Lovells make an excellent spring, I'm not a fan of king springs

they look alright too, i hate yellow suspension parts. Looks like cheap ricer crap. So yeah not a fan of king either but for the color reason haha.
Only ever driven holdens with peddlers springs and they are shite.

I have Kings in my VH, very hard ride. Have had Dobi (FE2 equivalent) springs in a couple of cars now, with the right shock give a good ride.

For good ride Id go lovells springs and monroe gas...lows/fe2...pedders is more sport orientated so harsher ride..koni adjustable shocks are good if you can afford them...kings and kyb combo are the poor mans pedders
...also what bush material you use in the suspension has a lot to do with ride quality, urethane bushes tend to be more harsh than rubber

I'm using boge shockers, superpro bushes everywhere, k-mac stage 2 tops and going for 30mm front bar.
will be a pretty firm rattly ride but my concern is travel, need a lot of it for there roads.
My aim is travel and ability to handle both semi off road and road, high speed cornering ability.
I got it all down pat, but never used aftermarket springs.
Sounds like Lovells will be the go, if they are more comfort then obviously they have a more of a progressive spring rate.
