be mindful of your springs.
most of the FE2 springs are linear rated ; i think i remember (will check) that the VS came with a set of springs which were progressive in FE2. the basic king springs are also linear rate (so compress at the same rate basically) - there is a model of kings that are progressive rated - check the catalog - these are soft on initial bump then firmer when the going gets tough(er) and more rate is needed
i had kings in a few of my VNs and they were OK but found them too jarring.
i had lovells in a lancer years ago and they were bloody awful - it was stiff as a board but the shocks were still stock.
i'd do bars before i'd touch lowering suspension which i'll do with my VX as i have a 30mm bar in the back garage.

you can tell by just looking at the spring. if its same diameter everywhere its linear, if its tappers down, its progressive.
Lovells do talk about all this on their site, king springs dont say much other that "our springs are minimum 35% higher rate that stock"
Im not lowing, Im just replacing worn out stock springs. The car these springs came from now makes sense why the front had a rake, they have worn away and weakened the springs.
Even this VP sits lower in the front than rear. So they might be much better in the end.

Stock setup will have a tail high rake normally, its about a 1cm difference..To get a flat rake you need to drop the rear to the next size down...so stock front, fe2/lows rear...fe2 front sl rear ect
Kings are duel rate, only issue is the first stage coils are almost completely compressed with just the vehicle weight on em....If suspension travel is what your after holdens did a country pack for commodores
but the car ends up looking like a 4wd

they only have a rake due to sag. my nephews car and the vacationer were completely level.
On a unrelated thing. I have a boom box in the shed which I have no idea whos it is or where it came from.
Has aux input and EQ. Works a treat as a knock filter lol. Tested my sensors on the engine with it and the EQ allows you to dial in the frequency pretty well , dual channel and gain to boot
Just need a more compact unit, this one is half the size of my engine. its old school 80s boom box lol

Spoke to Lovells.
They said the stock height for my car are a linear type spring with aprox 25% higher rate.
The ride will be firmer but not harsh they reckon and will handle a lot better.
The stock springs are progressive, but they said they went linear because they found they weaken and break on the smaller cross sectional area when using a progressive design, exactly where I have seen them break and same spots where my spare springs had badly fretted. They mentioned the front sag as well.
Good bit of info, was worth while calling.

I stumbled across this bolt yesterday. Im pretty sure its a seat belt bolt from somewhere.
Perfect to mod for knock sensor mount
I also started to setup the pedal box and the cruise control safety stop sensor and brackets.
