Got a little more done. Need a couple short radius bends and then I can start boxing off the crash bar to give it some strength back. That gives me a nice straight shot back to the turbo 👌

My dodgy little air duct 😆. I’d like to test out airflow up through the grill, the oem cai and behind the headlight. Maybe even airflow through the radiator with and with out the intercooler. Be nice to find the best place for air entry before I finalise piping 👌

Managed to get everything tucked behind the bar and bar grills 👌. A little bit of poke underneath but I don’t think most will notice it once it’s on the ground.

That’s the easiest way I know of how to modify plastic grill inserts. I’ve tried dremel’s, cut off wheels, jig saws and demo saws ect ect. But when there multi layer reciprocating saws don’t work and using any kind of cut off wheel takes forever and you need to try do it in sections. If anyone knows a better or easier way plz share 👍

Looks very, very neat.

On our speedway car plastic bar covers we always use thin cut off wheels, work really well.

Thin cut off wheels are the best 👌. When I done the patrol there wasn’t much room for an intercooler. Having all the bar work and winches and everything in the way. By the time I got the intercooler to fit, there wasn’t much grill left 😂. Had to use some body kit mesh and sikaflex some tabs in.

Check this out. This is pretty cool. Buick grand national intercooler setup. They used an engine driven fan off the water pump which draws the air through the intercooler. With an air dam picking up fresh air from under the front of the car. There would probably be enough room in the commodores to do something similar I reckon.
