well i decided to shout myself a birthday present this year :D got myself an Innovate Motorsports Wideband gauge to replace the wideband i had in the gemini before, basically it was the same thing without the gauge, so i will use it for logging when tuning cars and the new one is a fixed install in the gem!

used it to test out the idle tune of the gemini on E85! the commanded was 8.6 and i was adjusting the table to get it right (started at 7.6)

I highly recommend these, they look very well made and so far everything of theirs works fine!

only a minor update.
Found out the next door neighbour used to be a locksmith, he helped me get the boot lock barrel apart, so then i could remove/change locations of the waffers inside it so it worked with the key i had.

So now i have a working lockable boot!!!

thats pretty much the last thing i needed to do for tech inspection so i need to now work out when i can get a day off work and then i'm good to go!

the whole car has always been pretty straight, just had a lot of rust in the doors and they are not worth fixing so for the moment just bog and smooth them to make it look respectable and hopefully one day i will find some good doors for it!

So seeing as i had tech inspection today i had to get stuck into fixing the primered panel, i then had enough time to give it a quick wash and as it turns out i finished it about 20 minutes before i was due at the pub with mates sunday arvo so that was perfect

so with that done i was ready for tech inspection and on that topic, got a big tick of approval from the tech inspector so that means once all the paperwork gets processed and returned i have a valid tech inspection and can race!!!

:punk: :punk: :punk: :punk: :punk: :punk: :punk: :punk: :punk: :punk: :punk: :punk: :punk: :punk: :punk: :punk: :punk: :punk: :punk: :punk: :punk: :punk: :punk: :punk: :punk: :punk: :punk: :punk: :punk: :punk:

He did say that i needed to make the roll over 1 way valve vent to the outside of the boot, thats been completed with a simple bit of hose and a hole in the floor, also i need to secure the battery inside the box with a normal battery type of clamp so thats next on my list, but easy enough to do, and he said he trusts me to do them without needing to see the car again!

So with the tech inspection completed it was time to head to my mates workshop to get the car on his scales .... so race weight with driver (helmet and such) and full tank of fuel is 1085kg ... so other than the extra weight of fuel and bumpers etc which i didn't have last time i weighed it, the main difference is the battery is now in the boot.
It ends up giving me a front 55% rear 45% weight split and left 49.5% and right 50.5% (thats without me in it) it was nearly 58% front before the changes. side to side hasn't really changed though.

So very good result for today and hopefully within a few weeks i'll be ready to race ANDRA style!

i am planning to get stuck into painting the roll cage and some bits of the floor etc inside the car, but other than that shes good to go!
