Sounds awesome. Are you rebuilding yourself? And who did you source the parts from?

A little write up on the T5 rebuilt with a list of parts would be cool :wtf: :mrgreen:

Nope, getting trans diff and gears in Thomastown to do the work as they have all the spares and expertise needed and do damn good job. Why bother for bit over 1K price. I have 0 experience with the inside of a transmission.
I'm the director of VSH (Vlad's Spec Holden), because HSV were doing it ass about.

^^This was what I was thinking. :). But yeah makes sense to get the experts on it.

Any tips you can give bigvl? It's something I've been contemplating.

a decent shop manual is a must (gmh one is best) its a little bit of a jigsaw your first time but after that its easy, just need to focus on clearances and thrust and making sure theyre right. You will need access to some sort of press.

Most of the ones ive rebuilt have had knackered input shafts, they used o be a very hard to get part, not sure about now.

you have little to loose in having a go...

I'm going to push the friendship a little;) any chance you have the relevant pages of a gmh manual that you could scan and post?

Bought the NOS cruise cable. Was the right one after checking measurements.

Not that hard, a few fiddly bits. Make sure everything is shimmed and adjusted correctly. If changing bearings - make sure they are all seated fully against the abutment shoulders
