Got back to my pit from the tower to find the missus had got the flat tyre changed, the driver of 44g came and apologised for bumping me and putting a tyre rub mark under the number on my left door - all good we shook on it, that how it used to be and the racing was a lot better for it. Decided to skip the clubrooms as i was in a mood to speak my mind which could have had repercussions, once the car was on the trailer i saw the two 10litre buckets were reasonably full so we gave the car a bit of a wash and left a heap of the track that usually comes home with us behind, when its left to dry for a day or two it usually brings paint with it when it comes off and i want to look after it now its so good.
These were taken Sunday morning before it came off the trailer.

Real happy with that,
Once i'd had a couple of bourbons and chilled out a bit a light bulb went off in my head "WHY THE #@*% DIDN"T I SLIP UP TO 3RD IN THE FEATURE TO KEEP A LID ON THE GRUNT :sad2: :wall:

Found a couple of slices through the cords of the left front tyres sidewall so thats toast but overall light damage for opening night double points mad dash, especially compared to last seasons opening night carnage in all three races
Our oldest girl is now eligible for a pit pass now that shes 12 and she really stepped up grabbing me my tyre pressure guage and wiping the car down after each race so big ups to her - might have to put another name on my 'C'pillar girl. ONya

so is the lack of traction from the track condition, not good enough tyres or just more hp than in the past ?

the track condition definitely didn't help - but it'll likely be different next meeting, being limited to 205 road tyres doesn't help but what i have is pretty good for whats available, AND definitely more hp - its gone from a bit of an animal to Wild Hairy Beast :driving: :punk: its lunacy and i bloody love it. I've dug out some spare top arms for the diff which i'll cut and shorten to get the pinion angle down a bit which should help hook it up a bit but other jobs to do first not on 34G.

are you allowed to lower the top mounting hole on the body for the top arms it will make it hook like a motherfucking drag car LOL my mates HZ ute on our local speedway track launches like its doing 10 second passes on the strip from a roll nose up mad acceleration .theres only one thing you need to work out to make it hook its the "instant centre" have a look on google you move the IC and you can make trhe arse squat or lift its pretty cool to watch what happens when you move it too its all about weight transfer and doesnt matter if its drag circuit or dirt/rally the IC has a major influience on handling in general

The top arms are angled upwards on The HZ ( axle to body ) & down on the commodore, i've looked at lots of setups that i'm not allowed and been looking real hard at figuring what i can do ~ which isn't much

T11-5-8 Suspension
(a) Must be of original make and model of manufacture. Mounting
points may be strengthened to improve handling but must
remain in original position. Suspension may be lowered to
improve handling. Spring or Torsion weights may be altered.
Any shock absorbers of OEM configuration may be used on
original mounting points. No adjustable platform spring
tensioning type shock absorbers are allowed. A 25mm x 25mm
bar maybe bolted across front and rear suspension towers or
vee'd back to firewall, attached to a bolted plate, 150mm long x
100mm wide x 3mm thick, (non adjustable). No extra or
aftermarket sway bars, only OEM.
(b) Wheel base and track must not be altered and must remain
within 50mm tolerance of standard OEM (Specifications to be
supplied by car owner).

i dunno if it would make enough difference or not, but i knoow for camber adjustment you can get offset bolts, is it possible to get something like this for the control arms, wouldn't need to move the arm much to get a few more degrees at the pinion.... and if your allowed to strengthen the mounting points why not weld another plate over the top and then drill an offset hole ;)

That first vid is from the first race of the night at the last meeting last season where 9G spun me rather than let me pass - he got excluded from the results for it - that cost me second overall main points for the season and a bloody good tyre with the sidewall ripped up. Not sure of the second vid but its last season.
By the picture quality it looks like delcowizzid sold his old camera on trademe to someone in Gizzy
The birdie didn't lie mate, and i was up by 10am yesterday and shortly after up a ladder installing a new aerial on the side of the house and setting up our new tele. -------- and then had another drink or three
