Checking the XDL file header you are still using the old 11aux.adx, it has the wrong message size for the trans data.

Get the zip from the first post again, the date of last modified should be 30/03/2016 at 3:55pm.

Or you can check the message sizes and fix your ADX, the engine data (or Data Process 1) is body of 86 and payload of 83, trans data (Data Process 2) is 78 and 75. The old 11aux ADX had 78 and 81 which is wrong.

Thanks VL400. You got me with that one. I downloaded at 1.50pm and when I had a look yes that ADX was dated 2014. Got the latest and it works a treat. I did have a look at old ADX in the areas you mention and yep that's what caused my drama. Thanks again.

Had a bit of trouble this weekend with the V2, it didn't save any data?.. it shows all logs but the file size is 0. Was used in the same way two weeks ago no problem, I did notice a couple of 0 file size logs last time but didn't think much of them. I was connecting and recording manually while on the dummy grid, then starting the engine, racing, then just shutting down at the end of the run. Im assuming an auto-save problem?

Any one seen this problem?

I think I possibly had the same issue when I had the logger set to auto connect/log and plugged the logger in before turning on the ignition so it tries to connect/log but then times out and disconnects.

Have seen this a few times. One was not having a constant 12V source on pin 16 of the OBD connector, and the other time was dirty contacts on the SD card. Have you tried logging since? With a constant 12V source you should see the logger disconnect a few seconds after turning the key off.

While you should be able to start logging before starting the engine, if you get a large volt drop during cranking (< 7V at the logger) it may cause it to reset which will cause a 0kb file. The logger will turn back on once the voltage has recovered but without auto connect and record turned on will just sit there idle.

Yeah, makes sense. Just went and tested it, started engine = log, non started = no log. Not sure why this method worked last time and not now.. I'll just move the logger so as I can reach it while strapped in

or do what i do, wired the logger power supply to a switch, then set it to auto connect and record, i start the car, wait till the wideband has heated and then flick logger on :) it also means if i turn the car off the logger keeps power so i never loose a log!

Thanks 202, thats a great idea. Next issue im looking at is how to give the logger some sort of ip rating, anyone got any ideas? I notied that it was full of dirt and dust when i pulled the card out :? Im thinking of mounting it inside a box like the PCM, but that will make it a massive pain to get the card out of... Its currently velcro'd to the top of the relay box.Image
