Firstly...200 page milestone :P

So last week end I did the float measurements and set the shims.

My setup.

Zero'd out, well as best as I could as the oil on the bearings and flex lift it back up a tad if not pushing down constantly.

Pushed up and done many times to verify that really was the measurements.

So I measured the thinnest shim that I removed to be able to measure end float in the first place and mind you I used a combo of shims from the kit that felt right.

I needed an extra 0.05 to 0.07mm more than the measured end float. I measured the shim by getting a absolute 0 on the dial and shoving the shim under the dial with light pressured applied on the shaft. you might miss it at first but you can see the shim.

The result, fuck yeah! :punk: the "set by feel" shim I picked before was spot on!!! Very proud to get it in one go without actually measuring it first.

I had some issue getting the input seal to stay in the retainer, kept slowing popping out. I ended up replacing them with genuine timken item from CBC.

These are tricky as the recess is so shallow, anyway all good now.

So I got this happening last night, also preheated the retainer and box for the sealant to properly cure and that did wonders, was mostly set in under an hour it seemed.

I used a cotton bud to coat the bolt hole threads inside and I also coated the bolts and under the heads to seal against any fluid leaking out the bolts. I used a bread bag clip as a perfectly wide mini spatula to give a nice even coat of sealant on both surfaces.

Done! Kept it inside overnight to fully cure the sealant. Gets very cold in the shed at night.

Can't seem to get that pro billet mob (answers phone as walkinshaw performance) to ever return my calls. Tried them on an off since I started building the T5. A different receptionist answers every time.

Anyone know what's the go with them? Googled walkinshaw performance in wa and the business seems to be different to the one answering and has a different number. You search pro billet on google and get no results but I do have the site address. Also emails bounce back.

I just want to buy a shifter fss!

They had an issue with the name "Billet products" so they changed it but I don't know what it is now unfortunately.

GM are in the process of dumping HRT as a factory sponsored team because of the BS with the team owners Walkinshaw......

I think this is them now Probillet Products - contact us

Didn't formula tech just rebrand with a whole lot of Walkinshaw Performance logos . I think they maybe the distributor in W. A for Walkinshaw It maybe worth just contacting them direct as they show the product on their website.
