I havnt played with any timing yet. I just have the standard 12P. This is something new for me and ill have to start playing with.

Not sure what you mean copy his map. Do I copy the figures in his post into the what table? Or is there a more complete table. ie 20 to 100kpa delco has?
Is it a good idea for a beginner to install a knock sensor. Will a factory one do or is there any other i can use?

Re: 304 Tuning wirh Torque Power Manifold.
trying to get my head around tuning the spark. As per "Basics of tuning" i need to match idle spark and main spark table around the 400 to 800rpm at 30kpa. Which is better to change "Idle" or "Main" spark table?
Do I then blend smooth out the table using the graph? Once blended I then change the spark tables to find at lowest kpa at idle for the car? ie 20kpa
Then can i use delco's timing at 100kpa and work my way back to 20kpa. At this point it would be good to have a knock sensor installed?
Am I on the right track?

Cool, Thanks Delco,
Having a look through you bin i notice you disable a few parameters. Is this bin a final tune?
A couple of the interesting ones are RDSC min, tip-in bump, blm Block learn, closed loop and idle spark adj. Do you usually disable these?

yeah its the first final bin its had more timing added since then.no closed loop no o2 sensor cause we in NZ.idle sparks off to stop the idle hunting with a cam that idles at 70 kpa LOL.rsdc and tip in bump is off cause no one wants the ecu driving the car. if timing is commanded it gets its all LOL

When I first started plying with 12p, that was one of the first things I noticed. It went off shortly after I knew what it did lol.
makes good traction/launch control on a manual though

Delco,
So what parameters what would recommend to to switch off? Ie dont really need.....Ie, tip-in bump, rsdc etc. My car is not a daily driver. Just want to get in and have fun

ide probably leave them all on.if your idle spark is jumping around heaps turn off IPS spark via temp scaler.and then you could probably copy over my whole spark table
