On $51 bins it just before the spark table, but they're 128k bins. BWFW is only a 32K bin, so not sure if it will before the spark tables or in the same location as on the $12 bins which are also 32k.
Doctor Bob's site also lists "$5A = Like VR's $12 release but VS Theft Deter Implemented. (0x0008, 0x8008 with memory offset)".
If there is no luck with the above, I'll have another look.

you guys are legends.... it was there in front of me i must be blind.

OK loaded up the bwfw, used $12 version 1 and set the disable Anti theft moule to "set", and chasnged the checksum to "AA".

Ok te machine now strt nd runs however seems to be running really rich. lotsa black smoke too... sounds like its missing....
With the asbx stock chip its a bit better but still wont rev past 3750 odd rpm.

by the way,the motor has 10.1 comp and crane 284H cam.

Any suggestions guys ?

what else have you done to it? standard injectors? maybe post up a log so we can see whats going on?
with a big cam like that you will have to completely redo the entire VE map anyways...

yeah if the injectors are changed and the tune isn't changed to suit that would probably make it rich.....

Hi guy's been getting grey hairs over this.

Now got the engine out of car and onto an engine dyno.(easier to work on).

One of the extrators was red hot so meant that the injector was stuffed. replaced all injectors with standard blue tops.

Won't idle, had it running upto 5000rpm on the dyno. Shite HP and torque.
i figure it's probably running tooo rich.

Going over to dyno this afternoon to re do some timming on the idle space.

Just one question though. I set the static timming to 10deg and when it is revved it changes. is that normal i thought if i had the pin in then the timming would not change ?.

Cheers...

i think its 2000rpm it goes out of diag mode.

definately some dips in that hp reading that look a bit worrying!

standard injectors are 19lb, blue tops are 24lb. have you adjusted the injector rate to suit the larger injectors? that could explain why its running so rich.

might be worth a shot I had trouble with mine with the 284 crane cam and standard tune it killed the ngk plugs i found they fail very easily with rich mixtures yours is probably more likely to do so with blue tops i changed to bosch plugs and it was all good to tune plugs were able to handle the mixtures until i got the ve and timing adjusted .
I think from memory with the idle set at 850 rpm the timing like to be around 27 28 degrees but i am far from an expert just something to try.

Thanks for you help guy's.

Progress.... we found 2 hydraulic lifters jammed down and had no pre load.
engine is now idling pretty good and revs up OK.

Now comes the fun and games with the :comp: to see if we can tune it right.

Cheers...
