So how do you turn it off in 11p? I had a look in the overview and didn't see any option listed to disable it.

Hit ctrl+f and seach flags (or all) for vats.

ok its a bit different to 12p. I found pwr and eco setting for disable anti theft. So I can either set one to act like a kill switch or set both to permanently disable it?
both these are not set by default so i am going to have to stack the bin I guess. what are the settings i should use for stacking for standard factory prom? from 424.
I am going to try erase it with a 400w HID lamp. pretty sure there is short wave UV from those. Give it a shot anyway.
What type of prom is it? so I can select the correct chip config for my programer.
My brother had another key for the car, I fixed up the battery in that, had it open and checked while I had in in the barrel with my meter and yes, connection was good from key PCB to the wiring in the car. But I dont know if that was just a random key or original for the car as the key didn't fit but I swapped the key on to the fob.
Nothing worked so writing a new prom it is!
cheers.

That is the BCM disabling the starter motor, not a function of the PCM VATS. So will still happen with 11P.

On page 12 of the 11P PDF it explains the map switching with pwr and econ engine settings. You need to enable two flags for that function to work, otherwise it works like factory switching only trans items. Only the engine econ settings are used in the default bin with the option disabled.

No stacking is needed when burning to a factory VR auto memcal. The included stacked bins are for an NVRAM.

The factory memcal is a 27C512.

So I just save 11P out of TP as a bin then burn it?
To turn off vats. I set both flags "eco= disable anti theft control" and pwr=disable anti theft control"
and then its done?
I have successfully read the stock prom so my device is selected correctly. It actually says what it is under the chip.

realized that I had UV lamps right next to me. My PC has UV CCFLs so here it goes lol

Open the 11P BLCC V8 bin in TunerPro, with the 11P XDF make your changes and save it. Can save as with a new file name too.

If you are wanting to use the engine map switching then set both (which is unlikley unless you start modifying tables, as by default both econ and power tables are the same), otherwise only the econ one is really needed. There is no checksum or AA program ID to worry about. Save and done. Burn the bin to the EPROM, go

Can't erase it. tried all my UV sources and they must be not short enough wavelength.
Anyone got any EEPROM I can buy?

I believe festy also tried 400w hid with no luck and theorises the glass must filter uv. He did have success with a tig welders uv though. But for $20 an ebay eraser might be worth buying.

And/or i can spare a winbond eeprom or two that'll suit. Pm if interested.

I checked out the spectrum of HID, it drops to nothing at 380nm. The glass is designed to block short wave the arc lamp makes.
I can buy a germicide fluro tubes for around 20 buck. basically a normal fluro without the phosphor coating. 245-275nm they are, which is perfect.
I will worry about that some other time.
sending you a PM for some EEPROMs
